| The University of South Carolina/Salkehatchie and the Colleton Museum work collaboratively on three weeks of summer camp for young people. Funded by the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, the camp is called the Salkehatchie Summer Scholars and ACE camp. The many Colleton County young people who participate in the camp are able to experience the arts and environmental science in a unique and creative way, one that they would never have a chance to experience otherwise. From dissecting sharks, learning of local Native American culture, and study of the ACE Basin, these students receive a rich hands-on and entertaining learning experience that will last a lifetime.  | |
