Black History Month program
"Wouldn't Take Nothin' For My Journey Now - A Celebration of African-American Heritage"
6-9 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 16 at the museum
6-7 p.m.: Meet the Artists. Various works will be on display throughout the museum.
7-8 p.m.: Singing and Dancing. The Colleton Mass Choir, step dancers and others will give insight into the spiritual focus of black culture, particularly during the days of slavery.
8-9 p.m.: Dramatizations. Performances scheduled include "The Negro Mother" by Anna Varnado, "The Underground Railroad" by Cooling Waters Productions, and the recitation of various Gullah stories.
The event is free and open to the public.
